A collision between a police escort vehicle and a truck has left an officer in hospital with serious injuries.
The head-on collision occurred on the Eyre Hwy in Merghiny, east of Ceduna in South Australia, about 2.15pm Tuesday.

Major Crash officers arrived at the scene and closed the highway in both directions overnight, reopening about 6am on Wednesday.
The front of the police car suffered severe damage in the crash.
