A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being attacked by a shark off the coast of South Australia.

SA Police confirmed officers were called to Port Noarlunga at 9.45am today amid reports a man had been attacked by a shark while swimming near the jetty.

“He was helped from the water and treated at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a serious condition,” a spokesperson said.
