Teenage girl allegedly raped at Adelaide medical clinic

The 62-year-old man has been released on police bail.

A man has been charged with the alleged rape and indecent assault of a teenage girl during a medical examination.

South Australian Police will allege the girl was sexually assaulted by the 62-year-old man during an examination at an Adelaide medical clinic on Sunday.

The man has been released on bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 25.

A notification has also been made to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

An AHPRA spokesperson said they’re aware of the incident, however, no comment can be made.

“AHPRA has been notified by South Australian Police of serious allegations relating to a recent medical examination and is undertaking an urgent examination of the matters raised,” it said.

“No further information can be provided at this stage.”

It remains unknown if the man charged is a doctor or healthcare worker at the Adelaide CBD clinic.
