Tragedy as baby dies at South Australian home days before Christmas

In a Christmas holiday tragedy, an infant has died after being found unresponsive in an South Australian home.

Emergency crews rushed to a home in Gawler in Adelaide’s north on Saturday night after reports a child had been found unresponsive.

Police and paramedics were called to the property about 7.30pm on Saturday, but despite “desperate efforts”, the baby could not be revived.

Barossa Police and Northern District CIB attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

An investigation is ongoing, but authorities believe the death is not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
