The alleged attack occurred on a number 117 bus travelling from the city to the western suburbs last month.

Ruthven-Petrovic has been in custody since his arrest at a worksite at Oakden.

He has been prevented from being identified while the police investigation was in its early stages.

Now his identity can be revealed after a secrecy order lapsed.

The 34-year-old has not yet made an application for bail and his next court date is scheduled for June.
