An Adelaide woman has been grabbed from behind while on a run Friday morning around 8am.

Authorities say the alleged assault occurred on a walkway, adjacent to a train station at Coglin Street, Brompton, in Adelaide’s inner northern suburbs.

The woman overtook a man walking in the same direction, and police allege the man then grabbed her from behind.

He was last seen wearing a dark jumper, tan pants and a tan coloured backpack.
