Stanwell Park body: Police investigating after the body of a man in his 30s was discovered on beach

Police are investigating after a body was discovered at a beach south of Sydney.

Police were called to Stanwell Park Beach at around 7.30am on Tuesday following reports that a man’s body had been found.

The beach is located south of the Royal National Park between Sydney and Wollongong.

Officers from the Wollongong police district attended, discovering the body off Beach Street in Stanwell Park.

The body is believed to be of a man in his 30s and is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances of the man’s death are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
