Three product batches have been pulled from shelves after reports the sunscreen’s contents may separate, prompting a warning for consumers to “not use it”.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said the separation could “affect the SPF of the sunscreen and may cause inadequate sun protection”.

“The product may appear to have an uneven texture and visible water separating out of the product,” the recall notice said.

“If this happens, the ingredients are no longer properly mixed.”

Recalled batch numbers

The affected batch numbers are:

  • 1143730, expiry August 2027
  • 1141313, expiry June 2027
  • 1146857, expiry November 2026

Customers who purchased the product are urged to return it for a full refund.

They can contact its product sponsor, Vitality Brands Worldwide, via 1300 364 515 or info@vitalitybrands.com for refund details.

The recall adds to a growing list of Australian-made sunscreens pulled from shelves since consumer group Choice revealed some popular brands failed to deliver their advertised SPF protection.

Since the report’s release in June, about a dozen sunscreens have been withdrawn or recalled nationwide.

Consumers are urged not to use products from affected batches and to return them to the place of purchase or contact the manufacturer for a refund.
