Tarneit stabbing: Man drives himself to hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in road rage incident

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed in the stomach in a suspected road rage incident.

The victim, a 30-year-old Hoppers Crossing man, was driving along Sayers Road in Tarneit, Victoria on Thursday when he was cut off by an unknown vehicle.

The two cars then pulled over onto the side of the road before exiting their vehicles.

As the drivers exited their vehicles, the driver of the unknown vehicle, believed to be a blue sedan, revealed a knife and stabbed the 30-year-old man in the stomach.

The victim managed to retreat to their vehicle and drove themselves to a hospital seeking urgent medical attention.

The man was treated at a nearby medical facility for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, along with anyone who might have dash cam footage,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV, dashcam footage or any other information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
