A popular soft drink sold at Dan Murphy’s, Woolworths and Coles around Australia has been recalled due to health concerns.

Salted Grapefruit by StrangeLove, sold in 540mL bottles, has been recalled by Food Standards Australia New Zealand after “unintended fermentation”n was discovered in the product.

The fermentation can lead to the presence of alcohol and increased carbonation, which may result in breakages or popped caps.

Consumers are also advised that drinking the product could lead to illness or injury.

A statement released by Food Standards Australia says customers should dispose of the product safely and send proof of purchase directly to StrangeLove for a full refund.

The product is sold nationally in Woolworths stores, and in NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC Dan Murphy’s outlets.

It is also sold in Coles supermarkets in Victoria.
