Police said they and Kearns’ family have concerns for his welfare because of the extreme heat.

The area in which he was last seen has experienced several days of severe heatwave conditions, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Roma reached a high of 44C on Thursday and is expected to reach 40C again on Friday and Saturday.

Kearns is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, with a proportionate build and ginger hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
