Aberfeldie: Two-story home engulfed in flames in Melbourne’s North-West

A raging fire has destroyed a home in Melbourne’s North-West, with dozens of firefighters battling through the early hours of Tuesday morning to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby properties.
Emergency services were called to a two-story weatherboard house on Vida Street in Aberfeldie at 3.09am.
By the time crews arrived, the home was already engulfed in flames.

One neighbouring property also sustained “significant damage”, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread further.
A second nearby home was affected only “superficially”, and its occupants have since been cleared to return, according to Fire Rescue Victoria.
The fire was declared under control at 4.49am.
Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police also attended the scene. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
