Police are hunting a group of teenagers after a homeless man allegedly suffered stab wounds in a violent late-night attack.

A homeless man allegedly stabbed by a group of teenagers has stumbled into a Bendigo sports bar seeking help after a violent late-night attack.
Emergency services were called to a venue on Hargreaves Street about 9pm on Thursday after the injured 41-year-old walked in with suspected stab wounds.
Police allege the man, who had been living on the streets, was set upon by up to six offenders following an altercation in nearby Bath Lane.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Detectives from the Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit spent the night canvassing CCTV and speaking with witnesses as they worked to identify those responsible.
A search of the area failed to locate the offenders and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information, to contact Crime Stoppers.
