Box Hill: Emergency evacuation after man reportedly shot dead in Melbourne high-rise
Police and emergency services evacuated an apartment building after reports of a shooting.
A man has been found dead after a suspected shooting in a high-rise apartment block in Melbourne.
Homicide detectives are on the scene at Whitehorse Road, Box Hill, after a man in his early 20s was reportedly fatally shot.
Police responded to reports of an incident that is believed to have occurred on the 11th floor at around 1.50am on Thursday in a busy area of the city’s inner-east.

The man, who is yet to be formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
One resident interviewed by 7NEWS said she could hear screaming after the incident.
“There was a loud noise and then the fire alarm went off,” the woman said.
“It was really, really tragic to hear the screams of the family members.”
