Boy, 15, seriously injured in ‘deliberate’ hit and run in Werribee, Melbourne

Police have issued a renewed appeal for information about a “deliberate” hit-and-run in Melbourne’s southwest that left a teenage boy with serious injuries.
A group of people were walking along Margaret St in Werribee at about 3.45pm on August 10 when a car mounted the footpath and drove at them, police say.
The vehicle struck a 15-year-old Wyndham boy, who suffered serious leg injuries and needed surgery.

“The vehicle was driven away from the scene at a fast rate of speed,” a statement read.
CCTV footage of the vehicle believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run has been released by police, in hopes someone can help identify the driver.
The car is described as a 2000s model Honda Civic with false number plates, a silver body and gold front bumper.
There are also two distinctive black stripes on the bonnet and minor red markings and panel damage to the back right side of the vehicle.
