Coburg: Female pedestrian killed after being hit a truck in Melbourne, afternoon traffic affected

Police have cordoned off a major intersection in Melbourne’s north after a woman died after being hit while walking along the street.

Police have cordoned off a major intersection in Melbourne’s north after a woman was hit and killed by a truck while walking along the street.

The fatal fatal collision occurred in Coburg just after 12.40pm with investigators expected to remain at at the scene for several hours.

Emergency Services responded after the horror crash at Bell Street and Sydney Road, following reports that a truck had collided with the woman.

First responders treated the woman at the scene, but she could not be revived.

There are a number of major traffic diversions in place with major delays expected throughout the afternoon, with drivers told to use Moreland Rd, Murray Rd and Gaffney St.

Several bus routes and tram services are also be affected in the area.

Police are call for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward or contact www.crimestoppers.com.au.
