A pedestrian has died in horrifying circumstances after he was hit by two cars at an intersection in Melbourne.

Police say a car travelling in the intersection of Landale Avenue and Dorset Road hit the man, before a second car also struck him just after 7pm.

The man, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.

The two drivers, one female and one male, were not injured and are being questioned by police.

Police say the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.

So far this year 210 lives have been lost on Victoria’s roads.
