Incredible daschcam footage has captured the moment a motorcyclist speeds through traffic on the Princes Freeway near Altona south-west of Melbourne before smashing into a car.

Shocking dashcam footage shows the moment a motorcyclist crashed into the back of a car on a Melbourne freeway.

The motorbike rider was seen speeding through traffic on the Princes Fwy near Altona on October 8.

A silver car had put its indicator on and was about to merge lanes when the motorbike flew past, almost clipping the back of the car.

In the far-right lane, the motorbike then crashes into the back of a black car when the driver hit its brakes and slowed down.

The collision caused the rider to flip over the bike’s handlebars before landing on top of the car.

Several cars and another rider pulled over as the injured motorcyclist sat slumped against the freeway barricade.

It is unclear if the rider was injured.

Victoria Police said the incident was not reported to authorities.
