Taminick crash: Driver, two horses dead after float crash

A man has been killed in a crash involving a horse float in northern Victoria.

The car was towing a horse float in Taminick, west of Wangaratta, when it veered off the road and hit a low-lying tree branch on Thursday, Victoria Police said.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene.

One horse was killed and the other had to be euthanised.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing,” police said.

Police are appealing for dashcam footage and further information from people in the area around the time of the accident.
