Ivanhoe, Melbourne: Man found dead in driveway after neighbours report fight and gunshots

Police investigate man's death at home in Ivanhoe overnight.

A man has been found dead in the driveway of a suburban Melbourne home after neighbours reported hearing fighting and gunshots.

Emergency services were called to Linden Avenue in Ivanhoe about 6pm on Tuesday, where paramedics discovered a 27-year-old man critically injured.

Despite attempts to revive him, he could not be saved.

Neighbours reported they heard a violent altercation before the sound of multiple shots rang out.

Homicide Squad detectives are now investigating the death, which police are treating as suspicious. The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but authorities believe the man was shot.

The identity of the victim has not been released, and the gunman remains at large.

Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the Ivanhoe area around the time of the incident to come forward.
