A man has been charged and three people are in hospital after they were allegedly slashed with a box cutter near a shopping centre bus stop in Melbourne’s southeast.

Police allege a woman and two men were physically assaulted at a bus stop on Overland Dr near Westfield Fountain Gate in Narre Warren about 2.25pm on Tuesday.

The trio were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

A 30-year-old man is accused of fleeing the scene before he was arrested inside the centre soon after.

He was charged with affray, recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault and possessing a controlled weapon.

He was bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on February 14, 2025.
