Police have confirmed the two children in the home were physically unharmed.

Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said officers planned to speak with the children to gather more information.

“What exactly they’ve seen, we don’t know,” he said.

“Their wellbeing is number one and (we are) making sure that they’re OK and that they’re being looked after and provided support that they need.

“We will endeavour to speak to them, to see what they can say to us.”

Kumar appeared at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and did not apply for bail.

The matter has been adjourned until December 10.
