Victoria Police have charged a man after nachos were hurled at a family attending a preliminary final clash between Brisbane and Hawthorn at the MCG.
Two Lions fans, 47-year-old mother, Rose, and her eight-year-old son, were seated in the grandstands at the end of the game on September 19 when a Hawks supporter allegedly threw the plate of food at them.
On Thursday, police charged a 34-year-old Seaford man with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of throw missile, the force said in a statement provided to The Nightly.

“This guy looked really angry and I wasn’t sure what else he was going to do to us when he threw all the food at us,” she said.
“We were covered in guacamole and salsa and had nachos dripping off us.”
Her son said he was frightened and confused by the post-match ordeal.
“I was scared, I don’t understand why anyone would do that,” he said.
“I wish my dad was there to help, but when I was talking to him on the phone, he made a little joke and said it’s nacho fault.”
