Two people have been killed in a powered glider accident in Victoria’s alpine region.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics were called to a report of an aircraft incident in Mt Beauty about 1.40pm (AEST).

Advanced life support paramedics, mobile intensive care ambulance paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene and two people were being treated. Police are also attending.

It is understood the pilot and passenger sustained significant injuries.

Mt Beauty is nestled in the Kiewa Valley at the foot of Mt Bogong.
