It is understood that a female student, who has not been identified, died in the incident.

Christian College is a K-12 school in the Geelong and Surf Coast area, which has multiple campuses across Highton and Torquay.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed crews attended the scene.

“Paramedics are on scene and their priority is with their patients,” a spokesperson said.

“An update will be provided as information becomes available.”

Local paper the Geelong Advertiser reported that a horrified mother was seen arriving at the scene of the bus roll over, desperately waiting to see if her child was alright, with other parents arriving shortly after.

It reported that some children were seen wrapped in blankets, escorted by emergency crews onto another bus.

Diversions are currently in place, with motorists advised to avoid the area.

“The closure is under the control of Victoria Police, and the road will be reopened once investigations are complete, and it is safe to do so,” Transport Victoria said.
