Teen stabbed, another under arrest after alleged machete fight at shopping centre in Melbourne’s west

A teenager is under police guard in hospital with stab wounds and another has been arrested following an incident allegedly involving machetes at a shopping centre in Melbourne’s west.

Police were called to Watergardens Shopping Centre in Taylors Lakes just after midday on Monday following reports three teenage boys were running through the centre with weapons.

Officers located two males matching the description of the boys in a public toilet at a nearby railway station.

One of the teens, a 15-year-old boy, was treated by paramedics for non-life threatening stab wounds before he was taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by police.

Police said the third alleged offender remains outstanding.

There were no other injuries to the three boys or members of the public.
