Victoria Police investigate third suspected child abduction attempt in Melbourne
A mystery white van is at the centre of Melbourne’s latest suspected child abduction attempt, the third in recent weeks.
A young boy told police he was approached on Landscape Dr near Boronia Heights Primary School in Boronia about 8.30am on Tuesday.
The child was walking beside the road when the van pulled over.

It follows other reports of attempted abductions in Blackburn and Tullamarine in the past three weeks.
Those two incidents also involved a white van, but the descriptions of the two offenders were different in each case.
On November 18, a van pulled up next to an 11-year-old boy on Halley St at Blackburn, with the driver telling the child his mother had sent him.
“The man pulled onto the wrong side of the road, rolled down his window and told the boy his mum asked him to give him a lift home,” Victoria Police said.
“The boy declined the man’s offer and the van drove away.”
The 11-year-old walked home and told his mother what had happened, before they reported the incident to police.
A young teenage girl was also approached by an unknown man who was driving a white Toyota HiAce on Spring St in Tullamarine last Wednesday afternoon.
He asked the girl where she lived and tried to encourage her into the van.
The girl refused and sought refuge at a nearby park where there were other people around.
The police investigation is ongoing.
