Vodafone resolves national outage impacting voice calls
Vodafone customers across Australia were frustrated on Tuesday after an outage left many unable to make voice calls for most of the day.
Hundreds of customers reported early in the morning they could not make or receive calls, with Vodafone apologising for the inconvenience.
“We are aware some customers are currently experiencing interruptions to voice calls. Our technical teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience,” a Vodafone spokesperson told The Nightly.

Vodafone identified a fix by 2:30pm, stating the technical team was working to restore the outage as soon as possible. By 5pm, Vodafone confirmed, “the issue had been resolved and services should be restored for customers”.
Those impacted by the issue took to X to report the problem earlier in the day, with one stating, “National issue with Vodafone Australia. Calls going direct to Voicemail” and another adding, “calls to Vodafone mobiles aren’t working”.
Another person said they “aren’t able to dial out or receive” calls. Vodafone replied to customers saying it would “take a look at what’s happening with your calls”.
Downdetector, an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various services, showed most reports were coming from Sydney, Adelaide, South Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast, Brisbane, North Melbourne and Canberra.
