Millions of Australians are struggling to make calls, send texts and access the internet after a major outage hit the Vodafone mobile network this morning.

Millions of Australians are struggling to make calls, send texts and access the internet after a major outage hit the Vodafone mobile network this morning.

Vodafone confirmed it was aware of widespread issues affecting customers across the country and technicians were urgently working to restore services.

“We are aware that some customers are experiencing intermittent issues with Vodafone service and we are urgently investigating,” the company said.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

The telco, which has millions of customers nationwide, also advised users to restart their devices in an attempt to reconnect to the network.

Reports of problems began flooding in shortly after 7am, with outage-tracking website Downdetector recording more than 8000 complaints at the peak of the disruption.
