A man has died and a young woman was seriously injured in a truck crash in Western Australia’s Mid West region.

A Nissan Patrol and a Scania semi-trailer collided at the intersection of Coorow–Green Head Rd and Cockleshell Gully Rd in Warradarge, northeast of Jurien Bay, about 12.30pm Sunday.

“Tragically, the male driver of the Nissan Patrol died at the scene,” police said.

He was on Monday identified as a 20-year-old man.

His 19-year-old female passenger was flown to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries.

The truck driver, a 55-year-old man, was taken to Jurien Bay Hospital with minor injuries.

Investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
