Innaloo burglary: Detectives hunting gang of men who robbed, attacked 68-year-old man on King George Street
Detectives are investigating a terrifying home invasion in a Western Australian suburb where a gang of men forced their way into a property before attacking and robbing the male occupant.
Police say “a number” of men forced entry into the home on King George Street, Innaloo, about 4.15am on Tuesday and assaulted the 68-year-old man inside before stealing personal items including jewellery.
“The offenders fled and the victim managed to contact a neighbour for assistance and police were notified,” a police spokeswoman said.

“He got 40 to 50,000 dollars worth in gold chains and bracelets and I told him you will make yourself a target,” he said.
“He came out to me at four o’clock and staggered over and I just made him comfortable and rang the police and the ambulance.
“He said there were six guys and one was armed with a shotgun. They went into his house and worked him and ripped off all his gold.
“His face was all beaten. They headbutted him with the rifle. He has got a leg injury, which made it worse as they kicked him and they worked him over.”
Barry said it was upsetting as his neighbour had bought the gold jewellery to keep for his grandson.
“He keeps the security door closed but the rest is open as he doesn’t think anything is going to happen to him,” he said.
“I’m just concerned for Tom but he will get through this. It is just disappointing because the gold was mainly for his grandson for his future.”
The 68-year-old was rushed by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
