Kimberley dog attack: Woman dead, man injured following dog attack in Fitzroy Crossing

A woman has died following a vicious dog attack in a remote Kimberley town.

Police say officers responded to reports of a dog attack in Fitzroy Crossing, about 400km east of Broome, about 12pm on Sunday.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found a woman in her 20s, deceased.

A man in his 20s was also injured during the attack, which is understood to have involved two dogs.

The man was taken to Fitzroy Crossing Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

It remains unclear where exactly the incident unfolded.

Derby-West Kimberley shire rangers assisted with removing the two dogs.

Inquiries remain ongoing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
