Magnitude 3.8 earthquake rocks Kalgoorlie mining region of Western Australia
Locals residents and workers have flooded social media and government sites after a magnitude 3.8 earthquake shook one of Western Australia’s biggest mining towns.
The quake’s epicentre was around 28km northwest of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region and reportedly struck around 6.40pm on Monday night at a depth of 10km.
More than 164 people reported feeling the earthquake to Geoscience Australia.

Messaging to the sites said there was confusion in the area as some though it may have been a mining blast or a plane flying overhead.
