It is further understood DNA testing of a sample from her placenta found a claimed link between the newborn and her alleged victim.
Court records show Ms Craig is facing three new offences which have not been been publicly identified by the courts, which is standard practice when it may involve sexual offending against children.
WA Police did not say what the new charges were and or what the allegations are.
Initially, the 33-year-old was charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16, persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16 and a possessing child exploitation material offence.
She now faces seven alleged offences, which she has yet to enter a plea to.
Ms Craig, who recently taught students under the surname Woods, was on maternity leave in December according to a school newsletter.
It is reported that she was married and already had a child with her husband when the allegations came about.
She is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on January 27 via video link.
Frederick Irwin Anglican School sent a letter to parents and carers after the offending involving Ms Craig was published in the media, stating the alleged victim was no longer a student at the school.
The letter also said Ms Craig had been suspended from duty “pending the outcome of the police investigation and any prosecution.”
“I regret to inform you that a teacher from our school has been arrested by police and charged with child related offences not involving any current student,” the letter reads.
“The teacher has been instructed not to attend the school.
“The information available to the school suggests that there is no need for any concern for any other children at the school.”
Frederick Irwin Anglican School has a private co-educational secondary school and primary school campus in Meadow Springs, alongside another primary campus in Halls Head.
