Perth man charged over anti-Semitic online posts, guns seized

Police are reviewing a man's gun licence after they arrested and charged him with making anti-Semitic posts on social media.

A man has been charged with making anti-Semitic social media posts, with police also seizing firearms during his arrest.

The 39-year-old from Yangebup, in Perth’s south, was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation into alleged online anti-Semitic comments on a social media platform.

Officers raided the man’s home where they seized several firearms and ammunition.

He was a licensed firearms holder and several of his guns were registered, Western Australia Police said.

Authorities said they will review his eligibility to hold a gun licence.

The man has been charged with one count each of conduct intended to racially harass, carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon and failing to properly store a firearm.

He was refused police bail and will appear before Fremantle Magistrates Court onWednesday.
