One woman just couldn’t wait to get home from the shops before getting a chance to cool off.

And an inviting body of water at Carousel Shopping Centre in Cannington appeared to be the most convenient spot to take a mid-shopping dip.

TikTok footage posted on Saturday shows a barefoot woman wearing black shorts and a tube top plunge into a man-made pond located in the middle of the centre’s open-air rooftop dining space.

The dip resulted in a bizarre spectacle from down below, with shoppers and security guards looking on in shock as the woman bathed in the glass bottom pond.

Security guards are later seen by the pond searching for the woman, but she appears to have left the scene.

Posted by TikTokker and self-titled “Perth prankster”, jamesthetroll, the video has attracted more than 57,000 likes and caused quite a stir among locals.

“Only at caro 😹,” one user said.

“You’re allowed to swim in it?” another asked.

“As a fellow Perth person why am I not surprised this just feels like the norm for Australia’s most isolated City,” a third added.

In August 2018, Westfield Carousel unveiled a $350 million redevelopment which expanded the shopping complex by almost three football fields.

The revamp saw the shopping complex gain 70 additional stores, a new fashion mall and an open-air rooftop dining space.

Westfield Carousel has been contacted for comment.
