A Perth influencer has admitted she made “a poor decision” after leaving her six month old baby boy alone in a Bali resort room while she went for a foot massage.

Taleigha Skye, a self-confessed “boy mum” known for sharing parenting and lifestyle content on social media, was criticised online after she shared a video that showed her out on a pamper day while her son was locked in the room.

In the now-deleted clip Taleigha was seen holding a baby monitor so she could keep an eye on her son while she was away from her room to attend her appointment.

The 24-year-old was slammed online after her video was shared to the Facebook page TeaTime, with many group members likening it to the disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann on May 3, 2007.

Madeleine McCann went missing from her parent’s apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz after they left her and her two younger siblings alone in the room while they went for dinner at a nearby tapas bar.

“It’s giving Madeleine McCann. (Her) parents allegedly left her alone in the resort room,” one TeaTime member wrote.

Another wrote: “Did we not learn from Madeleine McCann?”

“In this day and age, after Madeleine McCann, why would any parent do this? I’m shook,” a third added.

Another member wrote: “My instant thoughts, I could never (do this) in Australia, let alone a foreign country.”

After the post went viral, Taleigha took to her Instagram to address her actions and that she won’t be leaving her son alone again.

“I want to address what’s been circulating online,” she wrote.

“I made a poor decision and I take full responsibility for it.

“Although I was only metres away from the locked resort room and had constant monitoring, I recognise that this did not make the situation safe.

“We do have a lovely nanny here in Bali who was unavailable that day.

“This is not a justification just context. I understand the seriousness of my actions and I can confidently say this is the first and last time it will ever happen.”

Taleigha has more than 16,000 followers on Instagram and another 74,000 followers on TikTok. In the wake of the backlash, she has made her Instagram private.

On Monday, she continued to keep her fans updated with vlogs of her holiday in Bali with her partner Matthew and eldest son.
