A man has died in hospital four days after he was allegedly assaulted in Perth’s northern suburbs.

The 57-year-old was found with a serious head injury in the driveway of a home on Whitfield Dr in Two Rocks about 5.15pm on Friday.

He was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital where he died from his injuries on Tuesday.

Police allege he was assaulted by a man who drove off in a grey Mazda hatchback.

A 33-year-old man from Two Rocks was arrested in Greenwood and charged with grievous bodily harm before appearing in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police said the pair were known to each other.

The accused man has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on October 28.

Police have not commented on the potential for the charge to be upgraded now the 57-year-old has died.

The homicide squad has taken charge of the investigation and has appealed for information from anyone who saw the incident or was in the area at the time, and anyone who saw the Mazda between 5pm and 9pm on Friday.
