WA man Shane Ramsey fighting for life in Bali hospital after horror scooter crash in Seminyak

A West Australian man visiting Bali for a wedding has been left fighting for his life in hospital after a horror crash on the popular holiday island.
Shane Ramsey was riding a scooter in Seminyak and was on his way to watch Sunday’s UFC event with friends when he crashed into a pole and sustained serious injuries.
The 30-year-old suffered a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, severe brain damage and blood in his lung.

The Clarkson resident has undergone brain surgery and is now in a coma.
A GoFundMe has been launched to help his heartbroken family who are struggling to cover hospital bills and the cost of bringing him home.
“Unfortunately Shane had no travel insurance and we are hoping to raise as much as we can to help cover the hospital costs and to bring Shane home,” the fundraiser organiser Amyleigh Mitchell said.
“Surgery alone cost $53 000. Every night in the hospital is an additional $9000. The flight to bring him home is going to cost a minimum of $150,000.
“We just want to bring Shane home as soon as possible to be closer to all his friends and family!”
The GoFundMe has a target of $750,000 and has so far raised more than $26,000.
