What’s open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day: Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Kmart, Target, Big W, Dan Murphy’s

With the new year fast approaching, you might be wondering which stores will be open.

Whether you’re planning a mad dash to the bottle shop, or you need to stock up on some last minute snacks, rest assured because we’ve got a full breakdown of everything you need to know about New Year’s trading hours.

Coles

Across the country Coles stores will be open on New Year’s Eve.

In every state except for SA, Coles stores will be open on New Year’s Day as well, but may close earlier than usual.

As for SA, all Adelaide metropolitan stores will be closed on New Year’s Day, except for Adelaide Rundle Place which will be open 11 am to 5 pm.

Regional SA stores will be open from 8am to 8pm.

Woolworths

It’s much the same for Woolies, with all stores across the country opening on New Year’s Eve, barring a select few in the Northern Territory and South Australia.

And New Year’s Day will be similar.

Aldi

All Aldi stores will be open on New Year’s Eve, however some stores will close early at 6pm.

On New Year’s Day, Aldi stores will be open in NSW, ACT, WA, VIC, and QLD.

In SA, Adelaide metropolitan stores will be closed on New Year’s Day, but regional stores will open.

Dan Murphy’s and BWS

Across the country, Dan Murphy’s stores will be open on New Year’s Eve from 9am to 9pm.

BWS stores will also be open on New Year’s Eve with normal trading hours, with some stores extending their opening hours.

On New Year’s Day, Dan Murphy’s will be open from 10am to 7pm.

All BWS stores are open on New Year’s Day with public holiday trading hours.

Kmart

Kmart stores across Australia are open on New Year’s Eve but hours vary based on location.

Except for SA and WA, stores will operate standard hours on New Year’s Day with some opening until midnight, and a few staying open for 24 hours.

In SA, the Rundle Mall store in Adelaide’s CBD is open from 11am to 5pm.

Other metropolitan Adelaide stores are closed, but regional SA stores will open from 9am to either 5 or 6pm.

In WA, the Northam store will be closed. The Kalgoorlie store will open from 8am to 3pm, and Esperance from 10am to 4pm.

All others stores will operate under standard hours.

All Target stores across the country will be open on New Year’s Eve.

Except for in SA, most Target stores are also open on New Year’s Day, but there are a few exceptions.

Some regional stores will close as early as 4pm.

In Western Australia stores will not open until 11am.

In SA, the Centrepoint store in Adelaide’s CBD is open from 11am to 5pm, but all other Target stores will be closed for New Year’s Day.
