‘Business as usual’ as companies behind Royal Hotel, Ciao Dandy and Busselton Pavilion enter administration
The companies behind The Royal Hotel, Ciao Dandy and Busselton Pavilion have gone into voluntary administration amid a ‘restructuring’ process, but will continue trading.
The companies behind The Royal Hotel in Perth’s CBD, Ciao Dandy at Karrinyup Shopping Centre and Busselton Pavilion in WA’s South West have gone into voluntary administration amid a “restructuring” process, but will continue trading.
Major shareholder of the venues, Perth hospitality baron John Parker, said it was “business as usual” despite calling in administrators from multinational insolvency specialists Rodgers Reidy.
“Following a recent consolidation of ownership, I have made the decision to appoint an administrator to assist with restructuring the businesses and setting up the venues for a stronger future,” Mr Parker said in a statement.

But it is not clear if creditors of the three venues covered by the administration process will be paid in full. Mr Parker did not provide a response when asked.
Rodgers Reidy, which according to its website specialises in “helping small businesses recover from financial trouble”, did not respond to requests for comment.
The three venues were previously majority-owned by a holding company registered to John and Jessica Parker. ASIC records show that company was dissolved earlier this year and majority ownership of the venues is now solely in Mr Parker’s name.
Mr Parker also owns The Standard in Northbridge and Willi’s Pizza Bar in The Royal Hotel.
He runs all the venues through his Parker Group brand.
The Royal Hotel, an historic venue built in 1882 on the corner of William and Wellington Streets, is Parker Group’s flagship site.
Mr Parker closed Fleur, a fine-dining European bistro located within The Royal, in April.
Parker Group took control of The Royal in 2019, carrying out an extensive $13 million joint restoration with property owner Charter Hall.
Mr Parker was named State’s best venue operator at the 2022 WA Bar Awards.
