Gillon McLachlan: Tabcorp boss makes sweeping changes to senior executive in wagering, media revamp
Wagering giant Tabcorp has announced sweeping changes to their senior executive with a focus on industry experience as they begin to rebuild their significant gambling and media arms.
Chief executive Gillon McLachlan announced on Friday that Tabcorp’s leadership team will be reinvigorated and that the company has created two new senior executive roles focussing on their core business.
Tabcorp has appointed well-known media executive Jarrod Villani as the company’s first chief commercial and media officer.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Mr Villani was most recently the regional leader for Paramount ANZ, encompassing the Australian operations of Network 10 and Paramount+.
The new role was created to “deliver stronger commercial outcomes and maximise the value of its assets across domestic and international media, as well as its retail footprint” Tabcorp said..
The company has also created the role of chief wagering officer, bringing together its core wagering functions of digital, retail, trading, marketing and product.
This role opportunity has gone to market with an appointment expected to be announced in the new year.
Two of Tabcorp’s most senior current executive’s, chief customer officer Jenni Barnett and chief information officer Alan Sharvin, will leave the business as part of the overhaul from McLachlan and the board of the ASX listed company.
“The changes to our structure will increase our wagering capability and drive growth across both wagering and media,” said Tabcorp managing director and chief executive Gillon McLachlan.
“We will have an executive team with market-leading experience in wagering and media.
“It allows one executive to control the key wagering assets within our ecosystem.
“It’s a simpler model that brings our wagering team together to drive first-class execution.”
A new head of legal has also been appointed with Narelle McKenzie brought in as the new chief legal officer.
McKenzie joins the group after nearly 20 years at Telstra, where she held multiple general counsel roles.
Tabcorp’s current chief transformation officer, Robert Fraser, has been appointed chief technology and transformation officer.
All of the outlined appointments will be subject to relevant regulatory approvals.
