ING Bank Australia outage: App and website goes down as customers are cut off from accessing funds
Customers of an Australian bank were left without access to their funds as a financial provider’s app and website went down on Wednesday morning.
ING Bank Australia acknowledged it was “aware” of an issue affecting customers.
“We are aware that some customers are currently experiencing issues accessing the ING app and website,” the bank said in a statement online.

“We are extremely sorry to any customers who have been impacted.”
Hundreds of customers flocked to popular outage website Down Detector to log the issue shortly after
“Just had a purchase declined. Did a payID transfer too my CommBank account as a work around to complete the purchase. And funds didnt go through,” one customer wrote on X.
“Getting a bit embarrassing for you guys now isn’t it,” another said.
The bank took to social media shortly after 10am to update customers on an urgent fix.
“Services are returning to normal. Most customers should now be able to access the ING app and online banking and make payments and transfers,” the bank wrote.
“As we complete the restoration, some overseas customers may be experiencing some issues accessing the app and online banking and we will provide updates on our socials.
“We sincerely apologise to any customers who have been impacted.”
Customers online echoed comments about the bank suffering multiple outages in recent weeks.
