Jeep Grand Cherokee: Beloved car to be pulled from Australian market after sales fall

New Jeep Grand Cherokee’s will soon disappear from Australian car yards as the once popular vehicle is pulled from the market.
The decision, made by Jeep’s parent company Stellantis Australia, follows a sharp decline in sales over a decade.
For nearly 30 years, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was a beloved large SUV, however, in 10 years, sales dropped by 96 per cent, with only 2377 vehicles being delivered to Australia in 2024.

“While the Jeep Grand Cherokee will continue to be sold in many countries around the world, this decision allows us to focus our efforts on placing the right products in the right segments that can have the greatest relevance for our customers,” Stellantis Australia said.
“The Jeep brand remains fully committed to the Australian market and Stellantis continues to invest heavily in its global product portfolio.”
Following its Australian launch in 1993, the Jeep Grand Cherokee peaked in popularity in 2014 when it became the nation’s best-selling large SUV. That year, 16,582 new vehicles were delivered.
