Customers at one of Australia’s big four banks have been left frustrated after an outage had them struggling to access internet and mobile banking services.

People have taken to social media to complain, saying logging in was “really slow” and that they had been “immediately thrown out”.

Another reported problems loading account balances on the bank’s home screen.

Downdetector clocked up more than 1800 user reports of issues with NAB, peaking at 4.29pm AEST.

NAB has confirmed a problem is affecting its mobile app and desktop banking.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this is causing our customers. Our tech team is currently investigating and working to fix this as soon as possible. We are continuing to keep our customers updated,” a spokesperson said.

It’s the second time NAB has been forced to apologise for an outage in as many months. In July, its internet and mobile banking services went down for hours after technical issues.

A NAB spokesperson said at 6.30pm AEST that the bank’s online services were back online and running normally.
