RJV: Founding Vincent family exits major WA civil and mining contractor after 70 years
Established in 1955, it has since worked on road and rail projects, the demolition of Princess Margaret Hospital and Subiaco Oval, the development of Joondalup, and the Telfer gold mine in the Pilbara.

One of WA’s oldest civil construction and mining contractors, RJV, has changed hands after 70 years, with the exit of the founding Vincent family.
Established by former Shire of Kalamunda assistant engineer Ron Vincent as an earthmoving business in regional WA in 1955, RJV revealed on Tuesday that Mr Vincent’s son and company chair John Vincent had been bought out by chief executive Tim Ryan.
Mr Ryan succeeded Mr Vincent as chief executive six years ago, having joined the Balcatta-based business in 2002.

Founded as RJ Vincent & Co with a single Caterpillar D7 dozer, the company has since worked on road and rail projects, the demolition of Princess Margaret Hospital and Subiaco Oval, myriad land and subdivision developments, including Joondalup and Port Geographe in Busselton, and the Telfer gold mine in the Pilbara.
Company filings show it made a $9 million net profit on sharply-improved revenue of $212m in the 2025 financial year. It employs nearly 200 workers.
“Over the past several years, we’ve built a business grounded in strong relationships, quality delivery and a long-term vision for the future,” Mr Ryan said in an RJV statement.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved alongside John Vincent and the wider RJV team,” he said.
“This next chapter provides an exciting opportunity to continue growing our capabilities, supporting our clients and investing in a more sustainable future for WA’s civil construction and mining sectors.”
