Santos’ CFO Sherry Duhe to exit after less than a year

Sherry Duhe has resigned from her position as Santos’ chief financial officer after less than a year in the role.
Ms Duhe, a former lieutenant at Woodside and Newcrest, joined the oil and gas producer in mid-October last year and had been considered a potential contender to succeed chief executive Kevin Gallagher.
In a statement to the market on Tuesday, Mr Gallagher said Ms Duhe was leaving the company “to pursue other interests” and thanked her for her service.

“I wish her all the very best for the future.”
The announcement comes during a turbulent period for the South Australia-based energy company following the collapse of a $29 billion takeover bid from an Abu Dhabi-led consortium last month.
It also comes ahead of the start-up of two major growth projects, the Barossa gas project in the Timor Sea and the Pikka oil project in Alaska.
Santos’ treasurer and deputy chief financial officer, Lachlan Harris, has been appointed acting chief financial officer.
Mr Gallagher last month hit back at suggestions he would step down after the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company abruptly withdrew its all-cash offer to buy Santos after three months of due dligence.
The CEO at the time acknowledged the commentary about him “taking his cheque and retiring” but said he wanted to remain CEO beyond 2027.
Shares in Santos were trading flat at $6.48 just after 1pm AEDT.
