Ariana Grande has been confronted by an obsessed fan on the red carpet, prompting her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo to leap to her defence.

Footage circulating on social media shows a man jumping over the barrier at the Wicked: For Good Singapore premiere, rushing toward Grande and grabbing her around the shoulders as she greeted fans at Universal Studios.

Visibly shaken, Grande freezes for a moment before Erivo quickly steps in to shield her while security guards sprint to the scene.

Erivo can be seen pulling the man’s arm away from the Grande, while fellow castmates, including Michelle Yeoh, looked on in disbelief.

The fan was quickly identified as Johnson Wen, known online as Pyjama Man, who later shared footage of the encounter on his Instagram account.

“Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You,” he captioned the video.

One person commented: “Are you happy now? Does it bring you joy to disturb celebrities? That’s sad”, while another user wrote, “You literally assaulted her. This isn’t a flex, it’s a crime.”

In his Instagram Stories, Wen, an Australian, reposted another clip showing him pinned to the ground by security officers.

In a follow‑up post, he claimed he was “free after being arrested.” He also posted to his Instagram story a video of him being held down.

Wen, who has a history of rushing celebrities at public events, previously interrupted Katy Perry’s concert in Sydney earlier this year.

‘Dear Katy Perry thank you for letting me Dance for you on Stage’, he wrote.

Under the video from the Singapore premiere, fans condemned his actions and rallied in support of Grande.

“Look at how terrified she was,” one commenter wrote.

Another person referenced Grande’s previous “trauma,” likely referring to the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, adding: “After all the trauma Ari has been through, this is beyond disrespectful. Not just to her, but to the cast and to all the fans. It’s literally infuriating.”
