Australian TV host Julia Morris opens up about being diagnosed with ADHD, aged 56
Aussie TV host Julia Morris has revealed she was diagnosed with ADHD last year.
The 56-year-old opened up about the diagnosis on Monday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity Get . . . Get Me Out Of Here after listening to two contestants discuss their own journey with ADHD.
Morris said it was very “confronting” to be diagnosed as an adult.

“I have not talked about that publicly.
“It’s taken an intense journey to try and find, oh my God, (going) back through my brain.
“And that happened and that happened and oh, that’s ADHD.
“That’s not me being pushy or a show off or any of that sort of stuff. It’s just the way the brain works.”
Morris said it was refreshing to hear two women speak openly about their ADHD on television because it brings awareness to the symptoms.
“I love that my children will be home watching these celebrities because it does mean there are going to be children and adults at home going: God, I think that way,” she added.
ADHD — attention deficit hyperactivity disorder — is a neurodevelopmental condition that begins in early childhood and can cause an individual to lack concentration, become distracted, hyperactive or impulsive.
According to Healthdirect, around one in every 20 Australians has ADHD and more than 3 in 4 children diagnosed with ADHD still have symptoms as an adult.
