Billy Ray Cyrus and Liz Hurley confirm engagement after year of dating
The unlikely union between a country star and a tabloid icon has been taken to the next step as the couple confirm their engagement.

It seems Billy Ray Cyrus has once again fixed his achy breaky heart after sources confirmed his engagement to partner Elizabeth Hurley.
The English model and actress was seen in a social media post flaunting a massive diamond ring on her index finger, sparking rumours that Cyrus had popped the question after more than a year of dating.
Sources then confirmed the rumours with Page Six, saying the couple were engaged, and that the ring was not a prop.

Hurley’s son Damian added fuel to the fire by leaving a comment that read “SO EXCITED” alongside several heart emojis.
Cyrus fuelled speculation further on Thursday when he used a cryptic ring emoji in the caption of an Instagram post.
“This is the most fertile solid ground I have stood on in a long time,” Cyrus wrote in the post.
Referring to the promotion of his new single “Party’s in the Back”, he added, “I like seeing peoples dreams come true. I’m so excited for the show this weekend teaming up with NASCAR in Phoenix !!! Kinda has a ring 💍 to it.”
Hurley’s son once again liked the post and left a celebratory emoji in the comment section.
The country singer’s union with Hurley would be his fourth marriage following unions with Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991, Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2023, and Firerose from 2023 to 2024.
His most recent relationship to Firerose ended in 2024, with the Australian singer accusing him of abuse, an accusation he denied.
Meanwhile, Hurley was in a long-term relationship with actor Hugh Grant from 1987 to 2000, before she had son Damian with late producer Steve Bing.
The “Bedazzled” star went on to marry Indian businessman Arun Nayar in 2007, but they divorced in 2011, and she was later engaged to the late Australian cricketer Shane Warne from 2011 until their split in 2013.
Cyrus and Hurley first met in 2022 while filming Christmas in Paradise before the pair reconnected in February of 2025.
The couple went public with their relationship on Easter weekend of 2025, raising eyebrows from fans who thought they were from different worlds.
However, Hurley told SheerLuxe earlier this month that “there are a lot more similarities than you’d think”.
“We have the same hair. Identical hair. Apart from his beard, we’re actually like twins,” she joked.
While Hurley admitted the union seemed to be an “unlikely pairing in some ways,” the couple actually have “quite similar lives”.
In an interview with People in June, the pair said they enjoy spending time in the countryside together; birdwatching, sitting around bonfires and using power tools in the garden.
“There was something in the opposites of us, I think, that maybe not only got other people’s attention but even our own,” Cyrus told the magazine.
“And I’ve never seen anybody that, in some ways, has more in common with the insanity that I have lived through in this crazy show business,” he added.
“Then mix in other personal, good things and tragedies — she’s like me.”
